How to manage our lifestyle

Would you prefer a workout alert over a emergency alert? ;)

Did you receive the UK emergency alert?

Monday was glad to be training and working out in the fresh air, enjoying the sun. I don't know about you but receiving the mobile alert Sunday afternoon was a bit scary; a night alert would have been far worse.

Focus on what you can control

There is so much stuff, in life, you cannot control, but your lifestyle and your general fitness is something you can. Working out 3-5 times a week can really help with so many health problems. 50+ the aches and pains will set in if you don’t use the major muscle groups.

Hips, knees and shoulders

The hips are probably the biggest culprit followed by knee and shoulder pain. It doesn’t have to be this way of course and any activity is better than none. The more effort you put in, of course, the more you will benefit and the better you will feel.

Lifestyle

Your overall lifestyle dictates the health of your body and even the state of your mind. A detox week or even a month will not make much of an impact if the remaining time we are not eating well or drinking alcohol too much. Its all about balance.

Regular exercise and stress hormones

If your life is stressful it’s even more important to exercise regularly. At the end of all my sessions my stressed and over worked clients always say how much better they feel at the end of their session.

Exercise reduces levels of the body's stress hormones, such as adrenaline and cortisol. It also stimulates the production of endorphins, chemicals in the brain that are the body's natural painkillers and mood elevators.
